That's Life Saturday: Another Great Man

Good evening dudes and dudettes!

Another day has come to an end, and for me this is one of those good days! Why? Because I have learned of another good man, a great inspiration to all, and his name is Josh Sundquist.

I might have already written/mentioned some of the people that I look up to (I think all of them either a Youtuber or have been mentioned in one of the videos) like ShayCarl, but this is the first time that I would introduce a person with 1 whole blog dedication.

For a small background (or just search it at Wikipedia) he was a Paralympian, and then became a bestselling author and a motivational speaker. He lost his leg due to cancer at the age of 10.

The first time I saw this guy (he won a YouTube competition) I just taught that he was just a regular guy doing videos on the net, but then I was surprised to find out that he has only the right leg and was using crutches or sometimes a prosthetic leg.

Did I felt any pity? Honestly, no. I felt more pity in myself! He was 100% better than me, even if I have 100% of my parts intact!

Most of the time we look at people and then judge them based on their appearance because we were taught that way. Remember all those fairy tales that were being read to us before we sleep? Yup, slowly, we were making a mental picture of a bad guy and the good guy. That is why it was a relief for me that a movie like Shrek was made to “reprogram” the witch and the princess mental status that was instilled in us.

And like that, we sometimes see people with a disability as someone “weaker” than us. But as I realized it, I am weaker! Literally weaker than this guy! I am overweight; I won’t last long in a foot race against this guy who has only one leg! And he got abs!!!!

He really is an inspiration.

Final words:

Stop making excuses. Stop being too “emo” or dramatic in your life especially if it is not a necessary. I do believe that part of being human and alive is that we have the privilege of experiencing happiness, sorrow, joy and pain. But being “emo” is just not healthy, and you are just being annoying.
That means, for me, I have to stop making excuses for being fat!
